View in collection Oval earthenware dish in red body covered in white slip with dark brown trailed slip decoration, of three stylized trees and flying birds, with band on the rim, the whole covered in dark galena glaze. Such oval plates were made circular, then a piece was sliced out of the middle and the two halves stuck together to form the oval shape. They were usually made by his assistant Elijah Comfort.

Bought New Handworkers Gallery, 1928 for 10s. One of a pair.
