Richard Batterham (1936 – 2021) was a master potter and represented an increasingly rare breed. He was one of the last surviving exponents of the studio pottery movement that flourished in the first half of the twentieth century and was a direct link to towering figures of the past such as Bernard Leach and Michael Cardew. This documentary film was produced by Alex J. Wright and the JOANNA BIRD FOUNDATION with contributions form Sir. David Attenborough and Nigel Slater
The exhibition Richard Batterham and Friends runs until 18th June in the Ceramics Gallery at Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
