Nigel LAMBERT

View in collection Ceramicist. He worked for the Forestry Commission before studying ceramics at Cornwall College of Higher Education. In 1987 he moved to Bristol and to the Forest of Dean where he established a workshop to produce a range of thrown and press moulded tableware. His abstract decoration is influenced by the colours of old French and Spanish peasant ware, and the work of abstract painters including  Roger Hilton, Terry Frost, Patrick Heron and other artists from the Cornish peninsula. He is also inspired by potters such as Michael Cardew, Peter Smith and Jeff Oestreich.
