Anne Marie ROBINSON
View in collection
She studied three dimensional design at the University of Ulster. She works in porcelain and her work is hand built with colourful illustrated decoration. The early work shows her dexterity in working with the fineness of porcelain, creating detailed, controlled, highly decorative forms. Each piece is individual with rich use of colour and lustre decoration. The teapot in the collection was acquired in 1994 from a Ceramic Series exhibition in Aberystwyth Arts Centre. Gerda Spence wrote the accompanying exhibition catalogue: Ceramic Series: Annabeth Robinson.
Her later work included large scupltural female forms, using a grogged clay and decorated with lustres and velvets. She is a member of the Irish Contemporary Ceramics Society and received an Irish Ceramic Artist Award in 2016.
